ABOUT THE ARTIST

Born in Queens, New York, he has resided in Nova Scotia since 1988 and in Queens County since 1972 where he teaches high school Social Studies.

Having spent many years working with stained glass, he began an adventure in rug work in 1996 with the assistance of many happy hookers.

As a member of the Nova Scotia Rug Hookers Guilds, he has developed an interest in colourful primitive pastoral scenes.  Using a good quality burlap foundation, he uses yarn, new and recycled wool, dyed fabric, and sweaters.  With a wide range of cuts, he is also interested in the overall texture of the rug.  His rugs have found homes throughout Canada and the United States of America.

He has found this hobby to be relaxing and creatively-rewarding.  He has been encouraged by his wife, Sandra, and his many supportive friends.
